NANO-REGION si occupa anche di sensibilizzare la classe produttiva e dirigente del futuro con l'obiettivo di stimolare i giovani a intraprendere carriere tecnico-scientifiche. Obiettivo del progetto infatti è anche quello di rendere consapevoli gli studenti del ruolo che le nanotecnologie hanno e possono avere per lo sviluppo economico e stimolarli a intraprendere percorsi di studi connessi con le nanotecnologie per poi avviarli a carriere diverse e multidisciplinari.

This is the story of how the nanoworld, populated by beings so tiny to be completely invisible, has changed the fate of the world as we know, as of our cities, our regions and our countries

This story takes place between north-eastern Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.  This region, called Adrìaca, once was one of most economically and culturally advanced in the world but then wars and nationalisms reduced it to irrelevance. Here some men have started running enterprises with the aim of producing goods to be sold on the market.

These producers together with the small and medium-sized entrepreneurs are the ones making up the active and dynamic social side of this macro area.

The entrepreneurs are always looking to improve their production, however they are only reproducing the patterns and using the tools they know. After all no one can use technologies they know nothing about.

Now, despite the efforts, the dynamism and the ability to dare of this class of people, some data continued to be worrying: the region's growth was slowing, the companies classified as innovative remained a far minority. In the last 5 years only 2.804 companies have registered a newpatents, compare with 47.672 in Baviera.

Long story short, Adrìaca, had a problem none even know what it was.

In other parts of the world, in Baviera for example, the fellow entrepreneurs managed to unite with each other and built a homogeneous force, while in Adrìaca the producers struggled to team up. But how to fix this up?

Meanwhile in the same area there were some men, the researchers, who went off on a journey to discover other worlds. In particular, their journey had led them to discover a secret, invisible and astonishing world, called the Nanoworld.

This place was populated by very small beings capable of achieving unimaginable goals.

For a long time, the researchers continued to come and go from the Nanoworld without revealing its existence to anyone.

First of all, they had to master the rules, to know the inhabitants, the languages and all the hidden dangers. Although they told they discovered the Nanoworld they were not able to show anyone the way to get it.

It took several years to gain a deep understanding of the Nanoworld and to realize that there were many secrets that could change the world of entrepreneurs to improve their processes, tools and methods.

So, a group of researchers came together to create an association that was not known at the beginning, but in a couple of months got very popular. They created a network of people from all over Adrìaca, linking people from different nations, who speak and eat differently and eat, making them able to understand perfectly each other through the universal language of science. They called themselves NANO-REGION and they built a link between the Nanoworld and the world of entrepreneurs

After a few attempts NANO-REGION managed to bring entrepreneurs together with the inhabitants of the Nanoworld.

In order to do that, NANO-REGION invented a path with several stages. They called it P.o.C. - Proof of Concept and it worked like this:

First of all, the entrepreneurs should have gone to the men of the NANO-REGION network asking for their help. These would have visited their plants and, together, they would have tried to identify the problem.

Then the men of the network, who had learned to speak the language of the Nanoworld, asked for a solution for that problem the nano-inhabitants who, with the help their nanotools, began testing one solution after another, until they found the best one.

This meeting point soon proved to be very effective for two reason: on one hand, the secrets of the inhabitants of the Nanoworld were applied in the processes and production models of entrepreneurs optimising their factories, on the other hand they understood that sharing a language, and building a team regardless of the borders, as the men of NANO-REGION had done, could have been the best way to match or even exceed their colleagues from other areas.
