20-03-2019 - Far from the dreams (and nightmares) of science fiction, nanotechnologies are spreading in society, improving in many, small, aspects of everyday life. The cross-border area of ​​Friuli Venezia Giulia has proved to be particularly at the forefront with a new European Union project, conducted in synergy with Slovenian research institutions. “Nano-region” in fact boasts 3 million behind it and a solid Interreg ITA-SLO program, all aimed at developing and spreading nanotechnologies.

17-10-2019- A seminar entitled "Nanotechnologies in life sciences" took place on 17 October 2019 as part of Meet in Italy for Life Sciences, the 2019 edition in Trieste.

30-09-2020 - NANO-REGION guest at the final event of the EU RETINA project, which took place on 30 September 2020. The event was attended by Mattia Fanetti, as an active researcher in the RETINA project, also participating, however, in the NANO-REGION project. The bridge constituted by the presence of Fanetti also meant a sort of symbolic passing of the baton, for the development and enrichment of a common methodology.

11-03-2021 - The "Nanotech meets business" workshop is held today, co-organized by Cnr-Iom in the framework of the NANO-REGION project, by the University of Trieste, which hosts the event on the Teams platform and by 'Ca' Foscari University of Venice, in particular the Business and Management department, with the speaker who leads the workshop, Professor Maurizio Massaro.

01-07-2021 - A new instrument has been installed in the research laboratories of Cnr-Iom, it is called Cryostage and is accessible to companies also thanks to the dedicated NANO-REGION project. Thanks to this tool, it is possible to expand the capabilities of electron microscopy to the biological, biomedical, and agri-food sectors, making it possible to analyze samples in which water is present.

Primorski tehnološki park, one of the partners of the NANO-REGION project, financed by the Program Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020, organized an event in the frame of their business community.

21 / 23-09-2021 - From 21 to 23 September the NANO-REGION project participated in Turin at the international conference MNE2021 which brings together the leading European and world experts in micro and nano engineering annually. The participation of the Interreg ITALIA-SLOVENJIA project has achieved the objectives of updating on recent developments in these areas, networking and making NANO-REGION known to the community present there.

24-02-2021- On 24 September 2021 in Rome NANO-REGION is present at the NanoInnovation conference-event which lasts from 21 to 24 September.

24-09-2021 - NANO-REGION presents itself during the final day of the NanoInnovation conference event of which it is a partner in 2021. NanoInnovation is a consolidated point of reference for the national and international community, active in the field of nanotechnologies.

On Saturday, September the 25th, this year's INCASTRA - Day of Industry and Entrepreneurship Ajdovščina, organized every year by the People's University of Ajdovščina, was held. In previous years, the event was organized as an open day for companies from the Ajdovščina area which write success stories in their field, both at home and abroad. They were visited by primary and secondary school students, and Saturday's event was always intended for general public. This year, the companies opened their doors virtually with virtual walks and production presentations.

Modern industrial strategies are based on specialized sciences and advanced technologies, including nanotechnologies. The existing manufacturing tradition needs qualitative leaps to meet current global challenges. At the same time, the existing research centers already have knowledge of the new technologies. The NANO-Region project aims to connect existing knowledge in the field of nanotechnologies with the needs of the manufacturing sector. Primorski tehnološki park is one of the partners of the strategic project NANO-region / Interreg Slovenia Italy, which connects research institutions and the business community.
